HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
PRECIOUS MOMENTS An unexpected smile, Reaching out to touch our hand. Words are hard to comprehend, But smiles they understand. Hug them, hold them with us, Don't let them slide away, Into that shell, that other world, Away from us to stay. Each day a new beginning, And a present to embrace. We grow within, Each day we win, When we give our care with grace. eveline
SHADOWS Shadows-just a sprinkling at first-with the sun peeping through the leaves, Then as the forest grows around us, it slowly blots the sun. First a slight forgetting, till all he knew is gone. The shadows creep in slowly while we are busy with today. Then the step unsteady with hesitating glance. No longer blue eyes twinkling but a searching, questioning need. The days roll on endlessly pretending we have time; the changes imperceptible, but creeping slowly on. Then one day it seems that the shadows are in control and the forest is so dense it is hard to see the sun. The days are short and precious now, the shadows dark and full. I search for sunlit moments and fill my treasure chest, With memories. eveline
WHEN YOU LEAVE ME Will it be spring, when all the world is green again, and the fragrance of lilacs and roses fill the air? Or summer, when the air is rich and warm, with gardens and orchards, in abundance everywhere? Or autumn, when the gold and red of trees, shine through early morning frost, the fog and rain? Or the cold and snowy winter, when life stands still, hibernates and waits for spring? Would I want the sun to shine, the streams to flow, the birds to sing; or will I hate them for remaining, when you leave me? Maybe I would rather see the storm, with the rain pouring out my grief, when you leave me. But the rain can't stay forever, and the sun will come again, bringing all it's glorys that will never be the same..................when you leave me. eveline
